In the “Saichuoboe,” the memorandums of living manners, which has been handed down in the Sugimoto family since 1841, chagayu is described as the morning menu from September 10 to March 2 (old lunisolar calendar)

Capacity: Limited to 10 meals per a day
Menu: Chagayu, boiled egg, cooked winter kyo-yasai (the vegetable of Kyoto), pickles of Kyoto
Fee:  1,000 yen for the morning chagayu + 1,000 yen (800 yen for high school students and under) as the Sugimoto Residence entrance fee
