Support the Sugimoto Residence

The Sugimoto Residence is one of Kyoto’s largest and best-preserved traditional machiya townhouses and is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Its gardens are also designated as a National Site of Scenic Beauty.

The residence is preserved and managed by the Naraya Memorial Sugimoto Residence Preservation Society, a public interest incorporated foundation established in 1992.

We welcome donations to support the preservation, maintenance and restoration of the historic buildings and gardens, as well as the continuation of Kyoto’s traditional merchant culture.

How to Make a Donation

Donations of any amount are welcome and are accepted in Japanese yen only.
