The 150-year-old Sugimoto Residence is open to the public in the mornings in August and September.
Immerse yourself in the tranquil morning shadows of the Sugimoto Residence and begin your day in peace.

– Learn how Kyotoites spend summer from a housekeeper, with a guided introduction to the highlights of the Sugimoto Residence
– Try uchimizu, the traditional practice of sprinkling water on the floor to cool and purify the space
– Spend a relaxing morning in your favorite spot within the residence, with beverage service available

*Upon entering the residence, visitors are required to wear socks to protect the important cultural property (Stockings for women are not acceptable).
