If you visit the 150-year-old traditional large-scale Kyomachiya (townhouse) during the Gion Festival period in July, you will directly feel the wisdom of our ancestors’ summer lifestyle.
*Due to repair work on the main roof, only the exhibition of the Wild Geese screen is scheduled. Additionally, please note that there are areas inside the house that cannot be viewed.
In the teahouse space, the popular seasonal menu features an original amazake (rice wine) made using koji from Saito Sake Brewery, associated with the Sugimoto family.
*Please note that the tea room will be closed on July 15, the Yoiyoiyama, two days before the Yamahoko Parade.
