“New Year’s in Kyomachiya through the Solar Calendar and Japan’s Old (Lunisolar) Calendar” Opening to the Public Days

<10:00 – 17:00, Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from January 12 to February 18>

* On Saturday, January 27, the Sugimoto Residence will be open only in the morning(10:00 – 13:00 / Entrance desk closes at 12:00).

Quietly and solemnly… A refreshing early spring in a traditional Kyomachiya.

As Jodo Shinshu followers, the Sugimoto family does not display shimenawa ropes or kadomatsu pine trees.

The New Year’s decorations in the alcove and in the alcove of the Buddhist room are not showy, and the quietness of the New Year renews our spirits.

Please stop by Sugimoto Residence to enjoy the fragrance of freshly changed green tatami mats!
