“Admire the Ever-Changing Flowers and Grasses” – Open to the Public

During the fall and winter months, the Sugimoto Residence opens its doors to the public, beautifully decorated with traditional touches that reflect the seasons.

Most of the flowers used to decorate the rooms are grown in the backyard of the Sugimoto Residence. The Sugimoto family’s way of life, harmonizing with the seasonal changes, is still preserved here.

We welcome you to explore the Sugimoto Residence in Kyoto this autumn and winter.

At the tea house, you can enjoy our signature “Kome Gelato” made with rice, and our original amazake made with koji (malted rice) from “Iwai,” provided by Saito Shuzo, a sake brewery in Fushimi associated with the Sugimoto family.
