“Admire the Changing Seasons” – Public Viewing of the Sugimoto Residence: Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from June 5 to 21
The Sugimoto Residence, a designated National Important Cultural Property and one of Kyoto’s largest traditional kyo-machiya townhouses built 156 years ago, will be open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from June 5 to 21, 2026.
In June, the residence will be arranged as a traditional Kyoto townhouse, much as it was in the days of earlier generations. Please enjoy the view of the garden, beautifully framed by the fresh greenery of early summer.

| Open Time | 10:00–17:00 Admission closes at 16:00. Guided explanations in Japanese are offered at 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 13:15, 14:15, and 15:15. Participation is optional. If you would like to join one, please arrive at the residence by one of the times listed above. If you arrive after a session has started, you may either join the explanation partway through or explore the residence on your own. |

*We may refuse entry to visitors who do not follow the instructions of staff.
*Infants and preschool children are not permitted to enter.
